Before 10 a.m., nearly 50 villagers and bank customers gathered outside the branch. They were upset about the transfer of the bank branch to another place. They said that this will cause inconvenience, especially for elderly and rural customers.

When the bank staff arrived to open the branch, protestors raised slogans and blocked the entrance, refusing to let operations start. Upon receiving information, the Gajner police station in-charge reached the spot and spoke to the villagers. After a round of discussions, the police managed to get the bank opened for the day.
Despite the bank being opened, the account holders sat on a dharna (sit-in protest) right outside the bank. They shouted slogans and demanded that either the bank services be continued in Junia or their accounts be closed.

Many villagers said that shifting the branch will make it difficult for them to access basic banking services like deposits, withdrawals, and passbook updates, especially in an area with poor transport facilities.
At around 1:30 p.m., Circle Officer (CO) of Akbarpur, Priya Singh, reached the location. She listened to the concerns of the villagers and assured them that she would speak to senior bank officials about their issues.

After her assurance, the protestors ended the dharna and left the area peacefully. CO Priya Singh confirmed that the situation was now under control and the bank functioned normally for the rest of the day.
