Is Bank of Baroda Sharing Personal Mobile Numbers of Staff with Third-Party Vendors?
The All India Bank of Baroda Officers’ Association (AIBOBOA) has raised serious concerns about the sharing of personal mobile numbers of branch heads with third-party vendors.
In a letter dated 26 March 2026, the association wrote to the Chief General Manager (HR) of Bank of Baroda and highlighted the issue.

The association said that the Digital Banking Department has been sharing personal mobile numbers of branch heads with outside service providers, including courier companies. These numbers are also printed on courier packets that carry QR codes.
Because of this, delivery agents are calling branch heads frequently on their personal numbers. Officers, who are already busy with banking work, are now facing extra trouble in guiding delivery staff about branch locations and other details.
The association also pointed out a serious security risk. Some delivery agents are asking for OTPs sent to the personal numbers of branch heads. This can lead to fraud and misuse of sensitive information.
The problem has increased due to the large number of QR code deliveries and involvement of many delivery agents. As a result, officers are receiving repeated and disturbing calls at inappropriate times. Moreover, some of the managers are female and personal mobile numbers of females should not be shared with third-party people.
Recently a female employee of SBI was harassed by a bank customer in Bengaluru. A case has been registered against a man in Bengaluru for allegedly sending obscene and inappropriate messages to a woman employee working at a State Bank of India (SBI) branch.
A woman working at the State Bank of India’s Kacharakanahalli branch filed a complaint that a bank customer sent her obscene messages. The customer asked the female staff to share her mobile number, citing some urgent banking work. Later, he started sending her obscene messages. Click here to read this news in detail.
Such incidents show that the Banks should have an official contact number for branches, and staff should not be asked to share their personal mobile numbers.
The association has demanded that the bank should immediately stop sharing personal mobile numbers of officers with any external agencies.
It also said that this issue had been discussed earlier in a meeting. At that time, the association had objected to sharing personal numbers with customers. The bank had assured that the problem would be resolved, but now the situation has become worse as numbers are being shared with third parties.
The association suggested that the bank should provide official contact numbers, such as landlines or closed user group (CUG) numbers, for branch communication instead of using personal numbers.
The General Secretary, Prem Kumar Makker, requested immediate action from the bank to protect the privacy, safety, and security of its officers.
