In this new initiative, Indian tourists and students can easily access Indian banks that collaborate with the Russian Central Bank to open their accounts and subsequently obtain a bank card for seamless financial transactions within Russia.
The Russian government recently announced a simplified procedure for Indian nationals looking to open bank accounts in Russian banks while remaining in India. The Russian Embassy in India enthusiastically shared this development, stating, “We are pleased to unveil the Russian Government’s decision to streamline the process for Indian nationals interested in establishing bank accounts with Russian financial institutions. Now, it is possible to remotely open accounts and deposit funds in Russian banks.”
Under this initiative, Indian tourists and students can connect with Indian banks having partnerships with the Central Bank of the Russian Federation for guidance on initiating the process. The embassy further added, “Upon arrival in Russia, it becomes convenient to swiftly obtain a bank card from a partnering Russian bank, allowing for easy financial transactions. This service is particularly advantageous for Indian tourists and students.”
