Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh: The landlord locked the branch of IDBI Bank over non-payment of rent.
When employees of the bank located on Station Road in the district arrived in the morning, they found the door locked. When they tried to open it, a few people stopped them and demanded that they first pay the outstanding rent before the lock would be unlocked.
A prolonged dispute ensued, after which senior bank officials arrived. After assurances that the rent would be paid, the lock was opened and work could resume.
IDBI Bank is located on Station Road and operates in a rented building. It is reported that the bank had not paid the rent to the landlord. Due to the non-payment, the landlord locked the branch.
LDM Ramchandra Saha arrived at the location. He assured the landlord that rent would be paid in 20 days.
