  1. In rhe IBA notice, the DFS finance approval,is it applicable to the finance allocation to resignees pension option as inked by IBA & UFBU in item No.14 of joint note of 12 th bipartite settlement on 8 th March 2024.

  2. The government’s decision to switch to a five-day workweek might adversely affect bank customers by potentially disrupting their financial transactions. It’s essential for policymakers to reconsider this decision and assess its impact thoroughly to ensure minimal inconvenience for citizens. Maintaining the previous work schedule could help mitigate potential challenges faced by customers in managing their finances effectively.

    1. Banks already provide various electronic modes for transactions.. Even Govt is trying to digitise India…Then there is no point in maintaining the same old schedule..Even bankers are human and they too like any IIT based company need a work life balance.. Although person sitting in branch banking cannot get an option for work from home also..Atleast they should get one day holiday on Saturday to do even their various tasks unlike others on Saturdays and take a day off on Sunday.

    2. Even Bank employees face several problems in other departments, RTO , nagar nigams, etc . If they can take a leave on weekdays why not others . Bank give all types of services on Monday to Saturday. Go and check your neighbour Bank when theses bankers leave for there home at evening.. I support 5 days banking for bankers …

  3. In today’s digital world banks launched various technologies which are user friendly like Net banking, mobile banking and UPI platforms and physical necessity of banks opend all days is not necessary and closing one additional day will reduce costs of these banks. Ank employees also need to be recovered from stress and late sitting during the weekends especially on Saturdays. Good move if 5 days banking is implemented at the earliest.

  4. IBA should change the policy of 5 days work, This will affect those people who want to go to bank on Saturdays, Now we have seen majority of people doing bank transactions on Saturdays which require bank visit, Should give priority to customer service.

  5. There are a number of digital channels for transactions. We will not face any problem due to five day banking.

  6. The said notification is not applicable to RRBs.DFS, GOI, should issue a separate notification under Sec 17 of the RRBs Act 1976 extending the benefits of 12th bipartite settlement to RRBs. Hope it will be issued immediately.

    1. Why are you people all after bank employees?Do you people tend to forget they are humans too? …They too have a family like u people.. Don’t be too selfish…

  7. Every department in India should work from Monday through Sunday.
Each staff should get two days holiday on rotation basis

  8. People are saying that Saturday is necessity for customers to do bank work but what about that customers who have only off on Sunday then how they will complete their bank related job. In that case bank should also must open on Sundays. Force govt. to arrange 7 days banking .It’s not possible so 5 day move is perfect for growing India.

  9. LIC, RBI, Central Govt offices work 5 days a week. Banks can also be given 5 days as the pressure on them is too high compare to above organizations. Any how we have Internet banking, mobile banking, ATMs, UPI and other channels.

  10. All the central and state Government dept and public sector units should work 7 days and all the private sector including information technology should work 7 days because we are also unable to get the service properly on time. The customer and people will go on Sunday and complete the work on time in private and public sector and government sectors.
Make 7 days work for all private and public sector and government sectors

  11. Even if five day week is sanctioned for bank employees, management will call staff on Saturdays for recovery camp, deposit camp, promotion of insurance and other products etc. They will also be called to attend monthly staff meetings at zonal offices. This will mean no rest on holidays.

  12. Hey Pankaj and t babu srinivas do you work 7 days a week? you look like bloody unemployed wimp. Tired of sitting at home and eating up father’s money? Tera digital banking nahi chalta kya ? Ya phir bank me ladies tarne aata hai? Bistar pe lete lete Kamar sujh gaya kya Tera?

  13. A banker, being social animal, sometimes need to avail of crucial services from government department/s which he/she can only when it’s off on Saturday otherwise he/she ought to exhaust one day’s casual out of the total quota of 12 days per annum. This is sheer injustice and attracts more stress upon the banker unfortunately!
5 days’ banking will pave the way to make the country fully digital, less footfall on branches and maximum output from bank employees when feeling stressfree!

  14. Even those who transact regularly don’t ask for Saturday working. Only those who visit bank once or twice in a year demanding 6,7 day banking. Real immature and inhuman.

  15. Most employees and staff in state and central govt have 5 days week. It is high time to consider bank employees demand of 5 days. These loss of hours can be compassionated by increasing their daily working hours. Besides internet banking. Banks have ATM, Banking apps, Digital UPI which the other state and central offices don’t have.

  16. Even workers in emergency services are eligible for a day off in a week. Police and staffs in medical sector are the workers who rarely get off days, the result is obvious, we complaint about the most insensitive medico legal professionals. We want slaves and return of the dark age?

  17. Bankers are also human beings, they are also bounded with family and social responsibilities, they are not orphans. And presently bankers are working for 11-12 hours a day due to staff shortage and work load. So 05 days banking will definitely help them to maintain work life balance.
