A Campus Built for the Future

Ananta can accommodate over 5,000 employees and has been built using locally sourced materials. The campus follows an AI-first approach, reflecting Google’s long-term commitment to artificial intelligence.

“Ananta will not only be known for the innovations created within its walls but also for its impact on the world,” said Preeti Lobana, Vice President and Country Manager at Google India. She highlighted that Google embraced an AI-first approach six years ago, recognizing India’s vast talent pool and its potential to drive global technological advancements.

Each working floor in Ananta is organized like a city grid, with a network of streets for easy navigation. Individual ‘neighborhoods’ foster collaboration while also giving individuals the freedom to focus within smaller nooks and booths. At the heart of the building is a vast gathering space called Sabha, for community and conversation.

Sustainability at the Core

The campus has been designed to minimize its environmental footprint. Some of its eco-friendly features include:

  • Water waste recycling systems
  • On-site rainwater harvesting
  • Smart photochromic glass that adjusts based on sunlight to reduce energy consumption

Google executives emphasized that Ananta is a step toward building India’s digital future. Anand Rangarajan, Vice President of Engineering at Google DeepMind, stated that solving challenges for Indian users often leads to solutions that benefit users worldwide.

Ananta is designed with features that minimize its environmental footprint and contribute to the balance of the surrounding ecosystem. The campus recycles 100% of its wastewater, harvests hundreds of liters of rainwater on-site and features one of India’s largest smart glass installations to reduce energy consumption. The building’s interiors have been designed with materials almost entirely sourced locally.

More Than Just an Office

Unlike a traditional office, Ananta is designed to encourage collaboration and employee well-being. It features:

  • A fully equipped gym
  • Daycare facilities
  • A cafeteria
  • A mini forest named ‘Aranya’ for relaxation

Googler Employees enjoy the walking paths through the ‘Aranya’ forest that was built to foster healthy breaks while also creating a noise barrier for traffic sounds from the busy road.

Google currently employs over 10,000 people across India in cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Gurugram. The company follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to work three days a week from the office.

With Ananta, Google aims to strengthen its presence in India, build world-class products, and solve some of the most complex challenges in technology.

  1. Well, a nice building has come up for the employees and we are created a Brand Bangaluru for the world. However as a old timer of Bangalore, it is disappointing that vast green spaces with thousands of trees are cut and increased the temperatures of Bangalore. As Google has the resources and work from home options. They could have thought to build such facilities at on NH 4 stretch may be in chitradurga or Davangere stretch so that the same would be more sustainable and googlers could get more time for their passion instead of being on the roads of Bangalore for approx 4 hours if you are on the other end..
