
Noida: Two cunning women arrived at Capri Finance Bank in Sector 51, armed with counterfeit jewelry. However, their deceitful plan was promptly exposed when the bank staff discovered the fraudulent nature of the jewelry while assessing its purity. Without wasting a moment, the diligent employees alerted the police. The Kotwali Sector-49 police wasted no time and swiftly filed a report, leading to the apprehension of Reshma, a resident of Ghaziabad, and Shabnam, a resident of Dadri. As of now, the police are actively investigating the matter.
According to Dipanshu Sharma, an officer at Capri Gold Finance Bank located in Sector-51, the incident took place on March 3 when Reshma and Shabnam visited the Hoshiarpur branch in an attempt to secure a loan using their jewelry as collateral. However, when the bank’s experts scrutinized the jewelry’s purity, they discovered a dismal amount of gold in all the pieces presented. It became undoubtedly clear that the jewelry was counterfeit. During the subsequent interrogation, both women claimed that the jewelry was inherited.
Further police investigation revealed that the accused women had previously engaged in similar fraudulent activities, obtaining gold loans worth lakhs of rupees from branches in Khoda, Ghaziabad, Lalkua Ghaziabad, and Pilakhua Hapur. The company official stated that the accused women had managed to secure loans of Rs 1.49 lakh from the Khoda branch, Rs 1.50 lakh from the Lalkuan branch, Rs 1.35 lakh from another Lalkuan branch, and Rs 1.29 lakh from the Hapur Pilkhua branch. In total, the two women had managed to acquire loans totaling Rs 5 lakh 64 thousand from the four branches of the company. The depth of their fraudulent endeavors was truly astonishing.
