FSIB recommends R Doraiswamy as next MD & CEO of LIC

The Financial Services Institutions Bureau on Wednesday has recommended R Doraiswamy for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).
FSIB said that it interfaced four candidates for the position and conducted a review of their performance, experience, and extant parameters.
After necessary approvals, Doraiswamy will replace Sat Pal Bhanoo, current interim CEO and MD of LIC. Bhanoo was appointed to this position on June 8, 2025 and is set to serve the organization up to September 7, 2025. He replaced Siddhartha Mohanty, former CEO and MD at LIC.
R Doraiswamy is currently serving as MD at LIC since September 1, 2023. He has more than three decades of diverse experience in operations, Marketing, Technology and Academics.
Previously, he was deputed to the National Insurance Academy as Research Associate from 1999 to 2004.He is serving as a director in LIC HFL Cares Homes Ltd., LIC (Lanka) Ltd., National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Ltd., National Insurance Academy, LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation, LIC of India Provident Fund No. 1, Management Development Institute Society and Bima Sugam India Federation.
