Pratiksha’s life started like that of many young girls facing financial hardships. She got married at the age of 17, even before completing her class 10 exams, because her parents could not afford her education. Her husband, Sadashiv Kadu, worked as a bookbinder in SBI, Mumbai.
However, fate had other plans. At the young age of 20, Pratiksha’s husband met with a tragic accident and passed away. Suddenly, her world turned upside down. With no education, no income, and a child to look after, she was left to fight life alone.
💧 The Struggles Begin
To survive, Pratiksha took up a job as a sweeper at SBI, the same bank where her late husband once worked. Her salary was only ₹60–65 per month, and her duties included cleaning restrooms and furniture.
But even during those tough days, she refused to give up. While working hard during the day, she took care of her son and attended night college to continue her studies. She knew education was her only way to a better life.
🌻 The Turning Point
Pratiksha’s determination began to bear fruit. She passed her 12th standard exams and even completed her graduation in psychology from a night college in Mumbai’s Vikhroli area. Her dedication caught the attention of her seniors, and she was soon promoted from sweeper to bank clerk.
Life started to change, but she did not stop there. She continued to learn, grow, and prove that no job is small if one works with honesty and dedication.
💖 A New Chapter
In 1993, Pratiksha remarried. Her new husband, Pramod Tondwalkar, was very supportive and encouraged her to aim higher. With his motivation and her unshakable willpower, she started preparing for banking exams.
Her hard work paid off once again — she became a trainee officer, and later rose through the ranks to become a Chief Manager and then the Assistant General Manager (AGM) at SBI.
