Rajasthan: A fire broke out early Monday morning at the IDFC First Bank branch on Mandia Road in Pali city. The fire caused huge damage to furniture, computers, air conditioners, and other office equipment. The fire was discovered when bank employees arrived to open the branch and noticed smoke coming from under the shutter.
The fire was first spotted around 8:30 AM by bank cashier Ranjan Kanwar and branch operations manager Ambalal Suthar. As soon as they saw the smoke, they immediately informed branch manager Nikhil Bafna and called the fire brigade.
When the shutter was opened, thick smoke had already filled the bank premises. The fire brigade team, led by fire officer Ramlal Gehlot and including firemen Paras Gehlot, Rekha Devi, and driver Nandlal, quickly reached the location. They managed to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading further.
Initial investigations suggest that the fire may have started due to a short circuit. The flames damaged air conditioners, fans, tables, chairs, and other furniture inside the branch. The estimated loss, according to the fire department’s preliminary assessment, is around ₹3.25 lakh.
While the exact cause and full extent of the damage are still being assessed, no injuries were reported in the incident. Bank officials have assured that customer services will be restored as soon as possible after safety checks and repairs are completed.
The Banks were closed on 8th and 9th August 2025 due to Saturday and Sunday holidays. Earlier also fire incidents due to short circuits have been reported at various branches of banks across country.
