In Narwana, Haryana, the manager and other staff of Union Bank allegedly swindled one crore rupees from unemployed individuals under the guise of providing them loans. The Narwana City Police have initiated an investigation against four individuals, including the bank manager, for fraud.
Mukesh from Tohana, Neelam from Narwana, Sonu from Badnapur, Anju from Hansi, along with Gurdeep Saithali and Gagandeep Dablain, jointly filed a complaint with the police. They claimed to be unemployed and in need of a loan to start their businesses.
During this time, they encountered Naresh from Saithali village, who assured them that he had a good rapport with the manager of Narwana Union Bank. Naresh promised to arrange a loan for them in exchange for a commission. They agreed to pay the commission and were instructed to come with their Aadhaar cards.
All the complainants went to the bank branch with their Aadhaar cards, where the bank manager Rajesh Nehra and employees Rakesh, Sudhir, and Ashok took their signatures on forms. They were told that based on the quotations, they would be eligible for a loan.
According to the victims, the bank approved the loans in their names by manipulating quotations at its level and seized the money. Some money was taken from them as security for the loan. Based on this complaint, the DSP of Narwana conducted an investigation, and a case of fraud was registered against the bank manager and the employees.
As per the complaint filed by Satvir from Chamele Colony, the police discovered that a quotation was applied to his name at Gupta Machinery Store on Old Hansi Road in Jind, and the money went into the account of that store. The owner of Gupta Machinery Store admitted to receiving the machine, but Satvir denied receiving any machine or starting any employment.
Upon further investigation, the police found discrepancies in the bank’s records. The bank manager claimed to have visited Plot Number 33 in the Industrial Area of Narwana on July 22, 2022, for machine installation. However, the plot owner, Rahul, son of Jailiram residing in Shaktinagar Narwana, stated that he neither rented out the plot nor possessed any machine.
Rahul informed the police that on the date mentioned by the bank manager, construction was underway on his plot. After the DSP’s inquiry, the Narwana City Police registered a case against the bank manager Rajesh Nehra, Rakesh, Sudhir, and Ashok in connection with this matter.
