Three farmers staged a sit-in protest inside a State Bank of India branch in Punjab Chowk on Tuesday. They were protesting against what they claimed was the negligence of bank officials regarding the payment of funds related to their cotton crops.

The farmers, identified as Nalla Vilash, Jagadish, and Mohan, came from different parts of the district. They allege that the bank has failed to return a total of Rs 3.76 lakh, which was deposited in a postal department account when they sold their cotton produce over a year ago. The farmers said they had been trying to get their money back but had not received any response from the bank officials.

Upon hearing about the protest, police arrived at the scene and intervened. Bank officials then met with the farmers and discussed the issue. They explained that the funds had been frozen due to a past fraudulent transaction, which had affected the account. The bank assured the farmers that steps would be taken to resolve the issue.
