A heartbreaking story from a public sector bank has gone viral after a pregnant employee, now in her third trimester, shared WhatsApp chats revealing the emotional pressure and mental harassment she has been facing at work.
In the chats, she repeatedly informs her manager about her severe health issues, sleepless nights, fever, extreme body pain, and frequent doctor visits — yet her leave requests were denied. Instead, she was allegedly pushed to report early, work long hours, complete EOD tasks, and remain in the branch even when visibly unwell.

The woman wrote that her manager has been “harassing me mentally, denying me leaves, overburdening me with work, and not even giving me a lunch break.” She claims she was forced to stay late despite doctors advising rest, adding that the constant stress is affecting her and her unborn child.
8:27 AM – Employee:
Good morning, sir.
8:28 AM – Employee:
Due to liver infection and extreme body itching, I am not in a condition to come to the office.
8:28 AM – Employee:
I will be at home and available to work.

10:05 AM – Manager:
Mam, it is not possible to sanction leave every time. These types of messages come every time before opening the branch.
10:17 AM – Employee:
Ok sir, I will get a medical certificate from the doctor. I have a valid medical reason. I haven’t slept for 2 nights due to uncontrollable body itching. Whenever I feel my condition is manageable, I always come to the branch. I even came when I had 102-degree fever for work. Right now I can’t take the risk, sir, because I am pregnant and if I don’t rest, it will adversely affect the fetus.
Next Day
7:57 AM – Manager:
Report to the branch on time at 10:00 AM. Late will not be accepted.
8:46 AM – Employee:
Good morning sir, I do not feel well since Friday evening. I have to visit my doctor today. Kindly allow me leave today.
8:53 AM – Manager:
Not allowed, mam. Report to the branch on time.
9:25 AM – Employee:
Ok sir.
Her messages paint a painful picture of a pregnant woman struggling to balance her health and workplace expectations — only to be met with pressure, insensitivity, and a complete lack of empathy.
Pregnancy is already a physically and emotionally challenging phase, involving fatigue, nausea, dizziness, swelling, breathlessness, hormonal changes, and high vulnerability. Instead of support, she says she received unrealistic demands and mental pressure.
“I am in my third trimester and facing health issues… but he has been making me stay till late,” she wrote, reflecting the silent suffering many working women go through.
The incident has sparked nationwide outrage, with people questioning how such treatment of a pregnant employee is even allowed — especially in a government bank. Social media users are calling for strict action, accountability, and stronger protections for expecting mothers.
Many have emphasized that women employees must be treated with dignity and respect, especially during pregnancy. They deserve timely leave, flexibility, empathy, and a safe environment — not stress, fear, or humiliation.
This viral case has reignited a larger discussion about the urgent need for humane workplace policies, and a reminder that a pregnant woman should never be forced to choose between her job and her baby’s health.
