Cracking SBI PO Now Harder Than Ever, Selection Ratio at 0.18%

If you think a bank job is easy to get, then you are definitely wrong. SBI PO has a selection ratio of just 0.18%.

According to official RTI data analysis, a total of 4,40,646 candidates filled the SBI PO application form 2025-26. Out of them, 3,01,720 candidates appeared in the preliminary examination. However, only 5,784 candidates were shortlisted for the mains examination.

In the mains exam, 5,226 candidates appeared, and only 1,412 candidates were called for the interview stage. Finally, 1,315 candidates appeared for the interview, while only 541 candidates were selected for the final appointment.

The data shows the extremely high competition in SBI PO recruitment. The selection percentage was around 0.30%, which means only about 3 candidates out of every 1,000 applicants managed to reach the interview stage. The final success ratio was only 0.18%, highlighting how difficult it is to secure an SBI PO job.
