A shocking case of robbery has come to light in Shakarpura village, located in the Jakhal area of Fatehabad district, Haryana. A cooperative bank employee, identified as Amarjit Singh, is accused of attacking a woman in her house and stealing her gold earrings and a large amount of cash.

According to the police report, the accused Amarjit Singh allegedly entered the house when the woman, Bindra Kaur, was alone. He attacked her with a sharp-edged weapon and robbed her of 1.25 tola gold earrings and ₹1.5 lakh in cash.

The victim’s husband, Sundarlal, had reportedly withdrawn ₹50,000 from Dharsool Cooperative Bank earlier that morning. After bringing the cash home, he went out for work, unaware that the bank employee was secretly following him.

Taking advantage of the situation, Amarjit Singh allegedly targeted Sundarlal’s wife, who was alone in the house at the time.

After the attack, the injured woman was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Tohana. However, due to her critical condition, doctors referred her to a hospital in Agroha for better treatment.

Just as the attack happened, Sundarlal returned home. But before he could enter the house and stop the accused, Amarjit Singh managed to escape by jumping over the boundary wall.

In his haste to flee, the accused left behind important evidence at the scene. According to sources, his helmet, bag, and motorcycle were found near the house, which will help the police in their investigation.

Sundarlal, who runs a tyre puncture repair shop and also does farming on a few acres of land, immediately informed the police after the incident.

As soon as the police received the complaint, a team reached the spot and began the investigation. Officers are now collecting statements and verifying evidence. They are also trying to confirm the accused’s role and motive in the crime.

Authorities are expected to take the help of CCTV footage, if available in nearby areas, to trace the escape route and confirm Amarjit Singh’s involvement.
