Three junior clerks at the Kanpur collectorate were demoted to Class IV posts because they failed the typing test. They could not reach the required speed of 25 words per minute.

After failing the first time, their salary increments were stopped. When they failed again, strict action was taken on the orders of the District Magistrate.

Premnath Yadav, Amit Kumar Yadav, and Neha Srivastava were appointed as junior clerks under the compassionate appointment quota.

According to the rules, they had to pass the typing test within one year. In the first test held in 2024, they failed to achieve the required typing speed. As a result, their salary increments were stopped.

The incident has created a stir on social media.
