Canara Bank: The manager of a Canara Bank branch, identified as Vinod Masih, was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances in his rented room in the Amarpura area of Ludhiana on Friday. His body was found hanging with a rope at the gate of his accommodation, with both hands tied. Vinod worked as a manager at Canara Bank’s Cheema chowk branch.

Vinod Masih, 50 years old, resided alone in Ludhiana while his family lived in Ferozepur. The landlord, Rajinder Kumar, was the first to discover the body hanging from the gate. He mentioned that Vinod would usually leave for work around 9 am. On that Friday, when Kumar was watering the plants, he noticed that the door to Vinod’s room was bolted from the inside. After receiving no response from Vinod despite persistent knocking, Kumar called the neighbors and together they broke open the door. They were shocked to find Vinod hanging from the gate with a nylon rope.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rajesh Sharma stated that the police are currently examining the CCTV footage from the premises. The body has been sent to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination, and further action will be taken based on the autopsy report. The police are also attempting to locate a woman who may have visited the house. Once the cause of death is confirmed through the autopsy, an FIR (First Information Report) will be registered at the division number 2 police station in accordance with the standard procedure.
