Canara Bank Manager cheated by Property Dealer, She Lost Rs.17 Lacs in Lucknow

The cases of fraud by property dealers are increasing day by day. You need to highly careful while handling property transactions. Recently the Supreme Court of India has also taken action against big builders in Delhi NCR who did not complete Flats and handed over to people.

In Lucknow, Richa Singh, a manager at Canara Bank and a resident of Adil Nagar, has filed a fraud complaint against Uddeshya Tiwari, the owner of Elpida Homes Private Limited. The complaint was registered at the Vibhutikhand Police Station after Singh accused Tiwari of cheating her out of ₹17.20 lakh under the pretense of helping her acquire land.

Details of the Fraud Allegation

Richa Singh claims that Tiwari promised to help her purchase land but failed to follow through. She alleges that he took ₹17.20 lakh from her, with the assurance that he would arrange the land transaction. However, not only did he fail to complete the deal, but he also did not return the money she paid him.

Singh says she was misled into signing a false agreement. She claims Tiwari used deceitful tactics to convince her to sign the agreement, which was not valid. Despite paying the amount and signing the document, she did not receive the promised land or any compensation.

Efforts to File the Complaint

After the alleged fraud, Richa Singh went to the Vibhutikhand Police Station to report the matter, but her complaint was not immediately acted upon. Frustrated by the lack of action, she escalated the issue to the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Vibhutikhand. Unfortunately, even after bringing the issue to the ACP’s attention, no report was registered.

In her efforts to get justice, Singh finally approached the Lucknow Police Commissioner, where her complaint was taken seriously. Following his instructions, the case was officially registered, and a formal investigation was launched.

The police have confirmed that they will take appropriate action based on the available evidence. They have assured that the investigation will proceed, and steps will be taken to hold the accused accountable.
