A robbery attempt was made at Punjab National Bank (PNB) in broad daylight in Sikar. Two armed men entered the bank and threatened the branch manager. They forced him to take them to the cash counter and strong room, where they filled a bag with cash. However, a quick-thinking armyman locked the bank’s main gate from the outside and immediately informed the police. The police arrived at the scene and detained both suspects.

How the Robbery Happened

The incident took place at the PNB branch near the main bus stand in Dadiya. Branch manager Omprakash Dhaka reported that around 12 noon, two suspicious men came to the bank, pretending to inquire about a loan. One of them asked questions about the loan, while the other stood nearby. Suddenly, one of the men pulled out a pistol and threatened the branch manager. They then took him to the cash counter and the strong room, where they collected cash in a bag.

How the Robbery Was Stopped

While this was happening, an armyman who was present in the bank realized what was going on. He quickly went outside and locked the main gate from the outside to trap the robbers inside. He then called the police. With the gate locked, the robbers were unable to escape. The police soon arrived and took both suspects into custody.

Police Investigation and Next Steps

During the investigation, the police discovered that one of the accused had been involved in a similar bank robbery a year ago. The police are now questioning both suspects to gather more details. After the incident, senior officials of the bank also arrived at the scene to assess the situation.

Thanks to the armyman’s quick action and the prompt response of the police, a major robbery was prevented. The investigation is ongoing.
