Bank of Maharashtra Manager sentenced to 7 Years Jail for sanctioning loans illegally

The CBI Court in Jaipur has convicted and sentenced Ram Bharos Meena, the then Branch Manager, Bank of Maharashtra, Gopalpura Bypass Branch, Jaipur, to Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) for Seven Years with a fine of Rs. 2,85,000.
Makhan Lal Meena, a private person, has been sentenced to Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) for Three Years with a fine of Rs 25,000.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had registered the case on 09.11.2016 on the written complaint dated 03.06.2016 lodged by the Bank of Maharashtra, Zonal Office, Jaipur alleging therein that the accused Ram Bharos Meena, the then Branch Manager, illegally sanctioned loans in 17 accounts during 15.01.2015 to 06.05.2015 without valid loan applications, documents or security, by abusing his official position and resorted to fraud and forgery, thereby causing wrongful loss of Rs. 3.61 Crore to the bank.
After investigation, the CBI filed charge-sheet on 09.07.2020 against above mentioned 02 accused persons and charges against them were framed on 01.12.2021. The Hon’ble Court, after the trial, convicted and sentenced the two accused persons, accordingly.
