  1. Appointment of Security Guards for Banker Protection:
Bankers highlighted the increasing incidents of violence, threats, and harassment faced while performing their duties. To ensure their safety, they called for the appointment of dedicated security personnel in all branches. The presence of security guards would act as a deterrent to potential attackers, providing much-needed protection to bankers, particularly in high-risk areas.
  2. Improved Infrastructure for Customer Service:
Another pressing issue brought forward was the inadequate infrastructure in many bank branches, which hampers efficient customer service. Bankers stressed the need for upgraded facilities, such as well-maintained seating arrangements, better technology for smooth transaction processing, and comfortable spaces for both customers and staff. These improvements would not only enhance the customer experience but also reduce the stress on bank employees, allowing them to work more effectively.
  3. Support for Filing FIRs in Case of Attacks:
In recent years, there has been a disturbing rise in attacks on bankers during working hours. Bank employees expressed their frustration over the lack of immediate support when such incidents occur. They demanded that the bank management take a proactive role in supporting employees by ensuring that FIRs are filed swiftly in case of physical or verbal assaults. This would send a strong message that any form of violence against bankers will not be tolerated and will be met with legal action.

The gathering served as a powerful reminder that bank employees, who are at the forefront of serving customers and ensuring the smooth functioning of financial systems, deserve a safe and conducive working environment. The demands made today aim to create a more secure and efficient banking experience, benefiting both employees and customers alike.

It is now up to the bank management to respond to these concerns and take concrete steps to address them. The unity shown by the bankers today reflects the urgency of the situation and their collective resolve to seek justice and improved working conditions.
