The age limit for this recruitment is 30 years. The minimum age limit is 21 years, and the maximum is 30 years. Candidates must possess a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution. Candidates must also have a minimum of 1 year of post-qualification work experience as an officer in a scheduled commercial bank to apply for this recruitment.

Candidates must be proficient in the local language of the State they are applying for (reading, writing,
speaking and understanding). This is the main reason why LBO recruitment started in banks. Banks want to hire local candidates who have knowledge of that particular state.

How many years LBO need to serve in one state in Bank of Baroda?

The selected candidates will be posted within the State for which they apply for the first 12 years of their service or upto their promotion to SMGS-IV Grade, whichever is earlier. Thereafter, they are liable to be posted by the Bank at its absolute discretion to any of the Branches/ Offices of the Bank or to any place in India.

In simple terms, a BOB LBO selected for a particular State will generally be posted within that State for the first 12 years of service. However, if the officer is promoted to SMGS-IV Grade before completing 12 years, the State-specific restriction ends at that point. After completing 12 years or reaching SMGS-IV Grade, whichever happens earlier, the officer becomes liable to be posted by Bank of Baroda anywhere in India, depending on the Bank’s requirements.

This is better compared to SBI CBO. In SBI CBO, the condition is “whichever is later,” which means that candidates have to fulfil both conditions. They need to complete 12 years of service in a State and also get promoted to Scale IV. Only after fulfilling both conditions can they apply for a transfer to another State.
