A recent case of arbitrary transfers without following any transfer policy has come to light in the Uttar Pradesh Gram Vikas Sahakari Bank. The employees of the bank have filed complaints with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, urging action against officers involved in these irregularities. They have also demanded the cancellation of transfers that were made in violation of the bank’s rules.
According to the bank employees, approximately 395 employees have been transferred during the year 2024-25. Out of these, 78 employees were transferred from the bank’s head office. The employees allege that these transfers were carried out arbitrarily by the department officials. It is worth noting that female employees, in particular, were transferred to locations that were 300-600 kilometers away from their previous postings.
Furthermore, some employees have been transferred for the second time within a span of six months to one year. Even those employees who are due to retire within the next one to two years have been subjected to transfers that go against the established rules and have been sent to different locations. In light of these issues, more than 25 bank employees have lodged complaints with the Chief Minister, specifically targeting the Managing Director of the bank.
