A shocking incident unfolded in Mokama, where Vikrant Kumar, an employee at HDFC Bank in Banka, was kidnapped and robbed by criminals. Vikrant, a resident of Brahmpura Chowk in Muzaffarpur, received a call from an unknown number, which led him to Mokama under the pretense of a job promotion.

Upon his arrival in Mokama, Vikrant was taken hostage by the miscreants, who then transferred him to a secluded location. “They made us sit in the car and took us to a deserted place. We asked where they were taking us, but by then, 7 to 8 people had arrived. They kept us at gunpoint until 4 p.m. and stole 3.30 lakh rupees from my mobile,” Vikrant explained.

The criminals threatened Vikrant with death if he reported the incident to the police. They also took his photo while pointing a weapon at him, warning him that they would make it viral if he spoke to authorities. The robbers managed to steal 3.30 lakh rupees through multiple UPI transactions.

Vikrant had been in touch with the criminals for several days prior to the kidnapping, as they had promised him a transfer to Begusarai, which he found more convenient than his current job in Banka. The victim had previously mentioned to others that he was looking for work in another district.

The criminals switched off their mobile phones after the robbery, making it difficult to trace them. Vikrant, after two days of fear, finally gathered the courage to file a complaint with the police. The victim also mentioned that the miscreants had beaten him during the ordeal.

Subhash Mukhiya, the police station in-charge, confirmed that they had received information about the incident and an investigation is underway.
