A young woman employed at a bank in Noida’s Sector-39 area has filed a serious complaint against a man named Vikrant Saini, accusing him of rape and financial fraud. The name of the woman and bank has not been revealed due to privacy concerns. According to the woman, Saini raped her over several months by falsely promising to marry her. In addition to this, she claims that he deceived her into transferring Rs 13 lakh to his account. Upon realizing that Saini had no intention of fulfilling his promise, she filed a case against him at the Sector-39 police station.

How the Events Unfolded

The victim explained to the police that she had met Vikrant Saini through a popular marriage website some time ago. Saini, a resident of Saharanpur, had presented himself as unmarried on his profile. This false representation led the victim to believe that Saini was serious about marrying her. Gaining her trust, Saini lured her into a relationship under the pretense of marriage and raped her on multiple occasions over the course of several months.

The victim went on to disclose that, apart from sexual exploitation, Saini also manipulated her into transferring a substantial amount of money to him. According to her statement, she was led to believe that the money was needed for various personal reasons, and trusting him, she transferred approximately Rs 13 lakh into his account.

The Allegations of Serial Fraud

The victim further claimed that Saini is not just a single offender but a serial fraudster. She alleged that he has trapped and defrauded several women in a similar manner, particularly in the Delhi region and other places. According to her, Saini has a history of engaging in relationships with women, gaining their trust with false promises of marriage, and then exploiting them financially. In addition to scamming women, Saini is said to have borrowed crores of rupees from various individuals under false pretenses, leaving them with significant financial losses.

Police Investigation

After Saini refused to marry her, the victim approached the police and filed a formal complaint. Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Manish Kumar Mishra confirmed that a case has been registered at the Sector-39 police station. He also stated that a thorough investigation is underway to verify the claims made by the victim. The police are examining the allegations of rape, financial fraud, and Saini’s involvement in other similar scams. The police will likely delve into Saini’s background and investigate any prior complaints against him. They will also assess whether there are other victims who have fallen prey to his tactics.

Legal Proceedings and Next Steps

ADCP Manish Kumar Mishra assured that once the investigation is complete, appropriate legal actions will be taken based on the findings. If the accusations are substantiated, Saini could face multiple charges, including rape, fraud, and cheating, which carry severe penalties under Indian law.

This case serves as a reminder of the dangers of online dating and how individuals can misuse platforms to exploit others emotionally, physically, and financially. It underscores the importance of due diligence and caution when forming relationships, especially through online platforms. Meanwhile, the police investigation continues, and justice for the victim remains a priority.
