An employee of Axis Bank, Sudeep Mishra, was brutally attacked with iron rods and sticks by a group of youths near the Naini Arail turn in Prayagraj. The incident took place on June 20, right in front of Hayat Hospital. Sudeep was returning home from work when the attack happened.
According to reports, Sudeep works at an Axis Bank branch in Civil Lines and lives in Qazipur locality of Naini. On the day of the incident, he had gone to Mirzapur for official work. After finishing his duties, he reached Balsan crossing and then headed back home on his scooter.
As he approached Arail turn near Hayat Hospital, he found a traffic jam. While trying to make his way through the jam, a car hit his scooter from behind.
These youths started abusing Sudeep, accusing him of not clearing the jam. When he objected, two of them attacked him with iron rods, hitting him on the head. Sudeep fell to the ground with serious injuries on his head and face, and the attackers quickly fled from the scene.
Fortunately, two of Sudeep’s friends—Ambuj and Sahil—were also stuck in the same traffic jam. When they saw him injured, they immediately rushed him to a hospital for treatment and then took him to the Naini police station to file a complaint.
Despite giving a written complaint and identifying the attackers, no action has been taken by the police so far. Sudeep mentioned that one of the attackers has been identified as Jagram, a resident of Lokpur, and the other as Saurabh, son of Rambabu, who lives in Kailash Chakki.
Sudeep also said that the police station in-charge personally visited the spot and even reviewed CCTV footage from Hayat Hospital, which clearly shows the attackers. Still, the police have not made any arrests, leaving the victim and his family disappointed and concerned about their safety.
Sudeep and his friends are now urging the authorities to take swift action and arrest the culprits so that justice can be served and such incidents don’t happen again.
