The Government of India has introduced an apprentice scheme wherein unemployed youth will get a chance to work in Banks and other public sector companies. Through this initiative, the youth can learn the work done at Banks and improve their skills, which will help them in earning livelihood by getting a job in banking sector.
In this post, we will talk about the salary of apprentice working in Bank – SBI, PNB, BOB (Bank of Baroda), Canara Bank, Union Bank and other Banks. The salary of Bank apprentice is Rs.10,000 for rural areas, Rs.12,000 for Urban areas and Rs.15,000 for Metro cities. We have provided the salary slip of Bank Apprentice working in Urban area.
Bank Apprentice does not receive full amount as salary from Bank. But the amount is divided between Bank and Government – means some part of the salary is paid by Bank and other part is paid by government.
For example, if an apprentice is working in Punjab National Bank (PNB) in an urban area, then he will get almost half of the salary from PNB and other half will be paid by the government. In the salary slip below, you can see, that apprentice has received, Rs.7258 in his account from PNB. The other part of the salary is received in Bank account in which the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) is active. In this case, the apprentice has enabled DBT in his account in Central Bank of India, so rest part of salary is received in Central Bank of India. You can check below, that apprentice has received Rs.4354.84 as salary in Central Bank of India. So total salary becomes Rs.7258+Rs.4354.84 = Rs.11,612.84.
The salary is paid only for the days the apprentice is present in Bank. Apprentice gets 1 paid holiday each month.
