Axis Bank Limited has appointed Malavika R. Harita as an Additional Independent Director. The decision was approved by the bank’s Board of Directors at its meeting held on December 18, 2025.
Her appointment will be for a four-year term, starting from December 18, 2025 and ending on December 17, 2029, subject to approval by shareholders. As per the Companies Act, 2013, she will not retire by rotation during her tenure as an independent director.
The Board meeting started at 9:00 am, and the appointment was approved at 10:00 am, the bank informed the stock exchanges.
Malavika R. Harita, aged 67 years, has 43 years of experience in marketing, communication, and entrepreneurship. She founded and led Saatchi & Saatchi Focus India as CEO for 25 years, handling a wide range of B2B, B2C, B2E, and healthcare brands.
In 2018, she started her own consultancy firm, Brand Circle. She is a resident mentor at NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore, where she actively mentors startups across profit and non-profit sectors. She also serves as Chairperson of the Atal Innovation Mission at IIM Visakhapatnam.
She is a member of the Board of Governors at IIM Bangalore and IIM Visakhapatnam and sits on the Governing Council of Mount Carmel College. She was the first woman to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award from IIM Bangalore.
Malavika R. Harita is also an Independent Director at Symphony Limited. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from Bangalore University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Bangalore, with specialisation in Marketing and Finance. She has also completed advanced postgraduate programs from Columbia Business School and MIT Sloan School of Management.
