The Assistant Garrison Engineer (AGE/Contract) employed at the Office of Garrison Engineer, MES, Kota (Rajasthan), has been apprehended by the Central Bureau of Investigation on charges of soliciting and accepting a bribe amounting to Rs. 1,10,000 from the complainant.
Following a complaint against the accused, it was alleged that the AGE(Contract) at the Garrison Engineer’s office in Kota (Rajasthan) demanded Rs. 1,50,000 for processing pending bills. Additionally, the accused sought Rs. 10,000 for extending the complainant’s previous tenders.
In response to these allegations, the CBI initiated an operation, catching the accused in the act of demanding and accepting Rs. 1,10,000 as a bribe/undue advantage from the complainant.
Searches were conducted at the accused’s office and residential locations in Kota (Rajasthan) and Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh), leading to the discovery of incriminating documents.
The arrested individual is scheduled to appear in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jaipur (Rajasthan) today.
In separate incidents of bribery, the Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested individuals, including the Deputy Chief Material Manager (Electrical) at the Material Management Department, Central Railway, Mumbai, and the Deputy Chief Material Manager (Coaching) at the Material Management Department, Western Railway (HQ), Mumbai. The Senior Material Manager of Western Railway and two private individuals were also apprehended.
The Deputy Chief Material Managers were caught accepting bribes amounting to approximately ₹70,500. The private individuals who were the bribe givers were also detained.
Searches were carried out at 12 locations, including Mumbai, Kolkata, Greater Noida, Jamshedpur, Ahmedabad, and Vadodara, resulting in the recovery of cash, documents related to properties, investments, jewelry, and other incriminating articles. All arrested individuals are set to be presented before the competent court today.
