A team from Rajasthan’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) seized Rs 8.50 lakh in unaccounted cash from Sanjay Sharma, the chief manager of Central Cooperative Bank Limited, on Friday night. The incident took place after the ACB received a tip-off regarding Sharma’s involvement in accepting bribes for approving warehouses under the food storage scheme.
According to ACB Director General (DG) Ravi Prakash Mehrada, the bureau intercepted Sharma at the Kohala toll plaza, located between Hanumangarh and the Nohar-Rawatsar area. Sharma was reportedly on his way to Hanumangarh after collecting bribes. During the search, the ACB team found the cash in his possession.
Sharma was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the source of the money. As a result, the ACB has seized the funds, and further investigation is underway. Sharma is currently being questioned by the authorities. More details about this incident will be provided soon.
