The alleged fraud came to light after the bank received a complaint from a borrower named Mamta. Following an internal inquiry, Pankaj, an authorised representative of the bank, approached the court and filed an application seeking legal action against the former employee. The court subsequently directed the police to register an FIR and investigate the matter.

Rajat Kumar resigned from his position on August 18, 2025, and was relieved of his duties on November 15, 2025. ACP (Hariparvat) Bajrang Prasad confirmed that the police had registered a case and that an investigation was underway. The allegations against the former bank official are currently being investigated by the police.
