A shocking case of workplace harassment has come to light from Central Bank of India. The Regional Manager has been accused of using abusive language against a Branch Manager who had requested leave to take care of his ailing mother.
According to reports, the Branch Manager’s mother had recently undergone an operation. When he sought leave to visit her, the Regional Manager allegedly abused him and threatened that unless recovery was made in SMA (Special Mention Account) cases, he would not be allowed to enter the bank from Monday.
He is accused of using words – साले, हरामखोर, दारुबाज़, नानी याद आ जाएगी, अपने parents को याद करोगे, etc.

The incident has left employees outraged. Reports suggest that the Regional Manager used highly objectionable words, including personal insults directed at the Branch Manager and his family.
A few days ago, an email complaint of UCO Bank Zonal Head had gone viral on social media and in news. In the email, an employee accused RS Ajith, Zonal Head of Chennai Zone, of creating a workplace filled with “fear and oppression.” The officer was described as treating colleagues like “servants rather than professionals.”
Zonal head is accused of denying leaves to staff when the mother of staff was in ICU. He is accused of saying – Everyone’s mother dies. Don’t be dramatic, be practical. Join immediately, or I will mark LWP (Leave Without Pay).
When a branch head’s one-year-old daughter was hospitalised, the official allegedly said, “Are you a doctor? Why are you at the hospital? Go to the office immediately, else I will mark LWP.”
