A shocking incident has been reported in Meerut. A young woman was found hanging from a noose at Chhipi Tank, located within the Civil Lines police station area of Meerut. The woman was working as a bank manager in Agra. What’s more shocking is that her brother was scheduled to get married just three days later.
She was working as a senior manager at the Union Bank of India in Agra. Her brother works at a Rural Bank. Her father retired from police department.
The bank manager, Shilpi, was at her home, and when she did not respond to the calls of her parents, they became suspicious. When they knocked her door, she did not respond. When they broke the door, they found her hanging from a noose.
During police interrogation, the family told police that Shilpi was a senior manager (scale three) at the Union Bank of India’s Sanjay Palace Agra branch. She had recently come on leave for her brother’s wedding. Her brother, Ashish Gupta, is also employed as an assistant at the Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank.
Shilpi’s father, Satyendra Kumar Gupta, is a retired sub-inspector in the police department. Shilpi’s mother, Abha Gupta, is a homemaker. No one in the family has been able to explain the reason behind the suicide.
Her brother’s marriage is scheduled for 30th April 2026, but the happiness has turned into grief. The family was supposed to welcome a new member into the family, but unfortunately, it has lost a member instead.
