Woman Accuses Bank Employee of Misappropriating ₹2 Lakh and Indecent Behavior
Lucknow: A woman from Banthra has accused an employee of an ICICI Bank branch in Gauri, Sarojininagar, of misappropriating ₹2 lakh and behaving indecently with her. Banthra police have registered a case against the accused, Mohit Shukla.
According to the woman, she took a gold loan of ₹3.20 lakh in 2025. On September 29, 2025, Mohit Shukla allegedly collected ₹2 lakh from her to deposit the amount towards repayment of the loan.
The woman alleged that he did not deposit the money in the bank. Instead, he allegedly threatened her and sent obscene messages. As a result, she had to deposit the entire loan amount of ₹3.20 lakh herself on May 19, 2026.
She further alleged that on May 29, Mohit called her to Sheelu Villa on the pretext of returning the money. There, he allegedly behaved indecently and pressured her to have a sexual relationship with him.
Inspector Rana Rajesh Singh said that an investigation is underway. Further action will be taken based on the woman’s statement and the evidence collected during the investigation.
