On 11 July 2026, Punjab National Bank PTS (Part-Time Sweeper) staff protested in Delhi. They demanded an increase in salary and conversion to a full-time job. Staff said that the salary is very low right now, and they are suffering from financial crisis. The PTS staff across India gathered at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and demanded a revision in salary.

Presently, the starting Basic Pay of PTS ranges from ₹4,833 to ₹10,875, depending on the carpet area of the branch or office where the candidate is posted. PTS are also eligible for Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Health Insurance, and other allowances and perquisites as per the rules in force from time to time.

In Punjab National Bank, there are various categories within the PTS post. Bank has classified Part-Time Sweepers (PTS) into different categories based on the area they are required to clean. The category also decides the number of working hours per week and the salary payable to the employee.
