UP Gramin Bank Chief Manager assaulted during Loan Recovery in Etah

In Etah district, an incident took place where villagers misbehaved with a bank manager and his team during a loan recovery visit. The incident happened in Nagla Shri Krishna village, where officials of Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank had gone to recover dues from a loan defaulter.

Praveen Kumar Singh, the Chief Manager of Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank, reported that he, along with other bank employees, visited Nagla Shri Krishna village on Wednesday afternoon. They went there to recover an unpaid loan from a local resident named Rakesh Kumar, whose loan account has been classified as NPA (Non-Performing Asset) since 2016. The bank officials requested Rakesh to repay the outstanding loan amount.

According to the manager, when they asked Rakesh to repay the loan, his son and some other villagers became aggressive. They began abusing the bank officials and physically pushed them. When the bank team opposed this behavior, the villagers even threatened to kill them.

Following the incident, Chief Manager Praveen Kumar Singh submitted a complaint to Bhavna Vimal, the SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate) of Jalesar, requesting that a police report be filed at the Jalesar police station.

Gyanendra Pratap Singh, the Circle Officer (CO) of Jalesar, stated that the police will register the complaint as soon as it is received and appropriate legal action will be taken against those involved in the incident.
