A CBI court in Ghaziabad has sentenced Manoj Srivastava, Branch Manager of Union Bank of India, SSI Branch Noida, to four years imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹30,000 in connection with a bank fraud case. According to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the case was originally registered on December 14, 2010, against Manoj Srivastava and several others on charges of fraud and misuse of official position.

During his posting as Branch Manager from May 2007 to June 2009, Srivastava allegedly abused his authority as a public servant and entered into a criminal conspiracy with others. He sanctioned and disbursed loans using fake and forged documents, causing financial loss to the bank.

After completing its investigation, the CBI filed a charge sheet on September 29, 2012, naming Srivastava and other accused persons. During the court proceedings, Srivastava pleaded guilty in both charge sheets before the Special Judge, CBI Anti-Corruption Court, Ghaziabad. The court, after considering his plea and the evidence presented, accepted his guilt and pronounced the conviction and sentence on October 18, 2025. Srivastava will now serve a four-year jail term and pay a fine of ₹30,000 for his role in the fraudulent activities that caused losses to Union Bank of India.
