Muzaffarpur, Bihar: In a tragic incident on Monday morning, two sisters lost their lives while trying to get off a moving train near Bhagwanpur overbridge in the Sadar police station area. Both were working as Officers in banks — elder sister Ruchi was posted in Canara Bank, while younger sister Suruchi was working with SBI.

According to eyewitnesses, the sisters were traveling from Patna to Muzaffarpur on the Danapur–Muzaffarpur Intercity train. As the train slowed near the overbridge, Ruchi attempted to get off the train but her foot got stuck.

Suruchi tried to rescue her, but both fell as the train picked up speed and were run over. They died on the spot, and their bodies were found scattered on the track.

Police recovered Ruchi’s phone from the accident site, through which her identity was confirmed. A bank ID card was also found. Ruchi was married and lived in Muzaffarpur on rent. Her parental home is in Patna. Her husband serves in the defense services. Suruchi was unmarried.
