Three Revenue Officers suspended after video with women dancers goes viral at Tehsildar’s farewell party

Three employees from the Revenue Department in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, have been suspended following the circulation of a video from a Tehsildar’s farewell party, where the trio was allegedly seen showering money on a dancer.

The video, widely shared on social media, shows dancers performing at the event, with attendees reportedly under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred at the Lalganj Ajhara tehsil.

An FIR has been filed against the suspended employees, and an investigation is ongoing. In addition to the three revenue officials, two lekhpals (accountants) were named in the FIR, along with 25 unidentified individuals.

The District Magistrate (DM) took immediate action, ordering an inquiry into the matter. The farewell event, held two days prior in honor of Tehsildar Dhirendra Singh, featured a female dancer, with one official accused of engaging in obscene behavior during the performance. There are also allegations of excessive spending on the event, including alcohol and the hiring of dancers.

DM Dr. Sanjeev Ranjan confirmed that the employees were suspended for organizing the event without permission, and an FIR has been lodged as part of the ongoing investigation.
