A daylight theft at the Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch in Kandhla town, Shamli, has raised serious questions about the bank’s security system. The incident occurred on December 11, when an unknown thief stole 54,000 rupees from a table inside the bank and managed to escape.

The victim, Faisal, had come to the bank to deposit the money. He placed the cash on the table while he filled out the deposit form. During this time, he went to the cash counter for some information. Seizing the opportunity, an unknown person picked up the money from the table and fled the scene.

The entire incident was captured on the bank’s CCTV cameras. The footage clearly shows the thief taking the money without any difficulty and escaping. After the theft, Faisal became upset and demanded to see the CCTV footage, but the bank staff refused. Frustrated, he filed a complaint at the local police station.

Upon receiving the complaint, the police visited the bank and obtained the CCTV footage, which confirmed the theft. The footage has since been made public, showing the thief’s actions in clear detail. This has raised concerns about the effectiveness of local law enforcement and the bank’s security measures.

The in-charge of Kandhla police station has assured the public that they are working on identifying the thief based on the CCTV footage. Authorities have promised that the accused will be apprehended soon and appropriate action will be taken.
