In Agra, a shocking incident took place where a son working at Bank of Baroda took his mother’s jewelry after tricking her into trusting him with it. He convinced her that the locker in his branch would offer better security. The victim, Kiran Devi, later filed a complaint in court, asking for action to be taken against her son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. The court directed the Hariparvat police to investigate the matter.
Kiran Devi, who lives in the staff quarters of the Jalkal Department in the Hariparvat police area, explained that she has three sons: Dhanpal, Rakesh, and Mukesh. Dhanpal, the youngest son, works at the Jeevani Mandi branch of Bank of Baroda, while Rakesh works at the Jalkal Department. She had stored her jewelry in a locker at the New Agra branch of Bank of India for safekeeping.
However, in 2023, Dhanpal convinced her to move the jewelry from the Bank of India branch to a locker at Bank of Baroda’s Jeevani Mandi branch, assuring her that the security would be better there. He handed her the keys to the locker.
On January 21, 2025, when Kiran Devi went to Bank of Baroda to retrieve her jewelry, the bank employees told her that no locker was registered in her name. Instead, they informed her that a locker was registered under her son Dhanpal’s name. When she confronted her son, his behavior became aggressive. He, along with his wife and son, verbally abused and physically attacked her.
Kiran Devi then filed an application in court, requesting the registration of a case. As a result, the court ordered the Hariparvat police to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.
