Shahapur Cooperative Bank Chairman Found Dead, Police Launch Investigation
Shahapur (Yadgir): A shocking news has been reported in a co-operative bank. Basanagouda Venkatreddy MaliPatil, 64, the chairman of Matosri Hemareddy Mallamma Souharda Cooperative Bank, has been found dead at his residence in Ganesh Layout, Shahapur, on Tuesday. Police suspect that it was a case of suicide.
Matoshri Hemareddy Mallamma Souharda Cooperative Bank (officially known as Sri Hemareddy Mallamma Souharda Pattina Sahakari Niyamita) operates as a regional cooperative credit institution in Karnataka.

According to the police, he was found hanging inside his house. The exact reason behind his death is not yet known, and an investigation is underway.
The cooperative bank had recently come under scrutiny over allegations of misappropriation of several crore rupees in loan disbursements. A complaint had also been filed against some members of the bank’s staff.
Earlier, depositors who had invested money in the bank staged a protest demanding the return of ₹10 crore. The Shahapur Police are investigating the case and are looking into all possible angles.
