SBI, BOB or HDFC Bank – Which bank has maximum overseas branches? In this article, we will have a look at the overseas branches of both public sector and private sector banks.

As per details available, State Bank of India (SBI) has the maximum overseas branches. SBI has 73 overseas branches. Bank of Baroda has 46 overseas branches. Public Sector Banks have a total of 169 overseas branches as of 31 March 2025, whereas Private Sector Banks have only 43 overseas branches.

This once again shows that public sector banks in India are not only vital to the nation’s economy but also play an important role in representing the country on the global stage. By representing India globally, public sector banks contribute to the country’s economic influence, promote cross-border trade and investment, and reinforce India’s position as a stable and reliable participant in the global financial system.
