
In a significant healthcare initiative, State Bank of India (SBI) Guwahati Circle has donated a Hb HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) machine to the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal. This donation was made as part of SBI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program to strengthen medical infrastructure in Manipur.
Support for Better Diagnosis
The Hb HPLC machine is a vital medical device used to detect hemoglobin disorders such as thalassemia and sickle cell disease. This advanced technology helps in accurately identifying hemoglobin variants, making it an essential tool for healthcare professionals.
The donation was formally announced when SBI Guwahati Circle Chief General Manager Sahadevan Radhakrishnan met Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at the Raj Bhavan, Imphal. The governor was briefed on SBI’s efforts to expand healthcare support in remote areas of the state.
Handing Over Ceremony at JNIMS
The Hb HPLC machine was officially handed over to JNIMS Medical Superintendent Dr. Th Lokeshwor during an event at the hospital. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Lokeshwor emphasized that the new equipment would significantly improve the early detection and treatment of blood-related disorders in Manipur.
He also expressed gratitude to SBI Guwahati Circle for its generous contribution, which will benefit thousands of patients in the state.
SBI’s Commitment to Healthcare
SBI Chief General Manager Sahadevan Radhakrishnan reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to healthcare development in Manipur. He assured that SBI will continue to support similar initiatives to improve medical facilities in the state.
Senior officials, including Deputy General Manager (LHO Shillong) Samit Kanti Jha, and representatives from SBI Regional Business Office, Imphal, were also present at the event.
