A young man was injured in an accidental shooting at the State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Kusmhi Bazar, located in the AIIMS police station area, on Friday morning. The incident occurred when a bullet was accidentally fired while a guard was cleaning his gun. The bullet struck a gate and a pellet hit the 45-year-old victim, Ganesh Jaiswal, who was standing across the road.

The injured man was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and took the accused guard, Jalandhar Rajbhar, into custody. The police are currently investigating the incident.

Jalandhar Rajbhar, a resident of Jungle Dhusar in the Pipraich police station area, works as a guard at the SBI branch. He had just started his duty on Friday morning when he was cleaning his gun and loading it. Suddenly, the gun discharged, causing panic in the area. The bullet hit the gate of the bank, and a pellet from it struck Ganesh Jaiswal, who was walking across the road at the time.

The sound of the gunshot caused fear among people nearby, including the bank employees, who quickly ran out of the office. For a brief moment, no one understood what had happened. It was later discovered that the gun had fired accidentally while being cleaned.

Ganesh Jaiswal, who was injured by the pellet, said that for a moment, he thought the bullet had hit his chest, leaving him terrified.

The police from the Jagdishpur outpost quickly responded to the scene and took the guard into custody, transferring him to the AIIMS police station. Circle Officer (CO) Cantt, Yogendra Singh, confirmed that the case is under investigation, and action will be taken based on the findings and available evidence.

  1. first blunder by the guard was that cleaning of gun is always done either before public dealing or after.

Here if the B M is present is the Branch, he should had take due diligence and ask to the guard to rotate the face of the gun just opposite the gate.
