SBI employee from Surat posted in Mumbai killed in Pahalgam Terror Attack

A 43-year-old employee of the State Bank of India posted in Mumbai, was killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam town of Jammu and Kashmir, just a day before he was to celebrate his birthday on April 23 with his family. One more Bank Employee from Vishakapatnam was also killed in Pahalgam Terror Attack.

Terrorists struck at a tourist location in Pahalgam in south Kashmir on Tuesday, killing at least 26 people, mostly tourists, and injuring several others, officials said.

Shaileshbhai Kalathiya, originally from Chikuvadi in Surat, was in Pahalgam with his wife, daughter, son, and cousin, who are all safe. Relief commissioner Alok Pandey said, “Shaileshbhai from Surat was killed in the firing. His family is safe, and we are providing full support.”

Kalakhiya, who lived in Harikunj Society in the Chikoowadi locality of Katargam area, was originally from Drufaniya village of Amreli district and settled in Surat. His cousin brother lives in Mota Varaccha. The family members left for Kashmir to bring back his body.

As per the update, he was employed with SBI Life. Sri Shailesh Kalthiya served as the Area Manager of SBI Life in Rajkot in 2019 and later as the Area Head of Regional Rural Bank in Jodhpur, Rajasthan for the past one year. He was recently transferred to Mumbai.

SBI Life Insurance Company Limited is an Indian life insurance company which was started as a joint venture between State Bank of India (SBI) and French financial institution BNP Paribas Cardif.

  2. Very sad news. However, “SBI” and “SBI Life” are different organizations. SBI Life is dealing with the Insurance only and is a Pvt Company…
