SBI Employee Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances in Koderma

A State Bank of India (SBI) employee was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his rented residence in the Tilaiya police station area of Koderma district. The deceased, Vikas Kumar, was working as an accountant at SBI’s Chandwara branch and had taken charge as accountant only six months ago. The Koderma district is situated 165 KM far away from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand.
According to reports, Vikas Kumar was living with his wife and daughter in a rented house located in front of Dadi Ji Apartment, behind ICICI Bank. However, his wife and daughter had been away at their maternal home for the past five days.
Concern arose on Monday when Vikas failed to respond to repeated calls from his colleagues. One of the bank employees went to his residence, but after receiving no response at the door, senior officials were alerted. Police from Tilaiya station, led by Station In-Charge Vinay Kumar, were informed.
In the presence of a magistrate, the door was forcibly opened. Vikas Kumar was found dead in the bathroom. His body has been sent to Sadar Hospital in Koderma for postmortem, and his family has been notified.
Vikas’s brother, Sonu Kumar, told police that he last spoke to Vikas around 3 p.m. on Sunday. Later that evening and again on Monday morning, he tried calling him but got no response. Around 11 a.m. on Monday, the family was contacted by SBI staff and called to Jhumri Tilaiya, where they learned of the tragic news.
Sonu revealed that Vikas had been suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure, and other health issues, for which he was receiving medical treatment.
Vikas Kumar hailed from Bihar Sharif in Bihar. His sudden and unexplained death has left colleagues and family members in shock. Police have begun an investigation, and the exact cause of death will be determined after the postmortem report.
Authorities are also expected to assess if there were any signs of foul play or if his medical condition may have played a role in the incident.
