SBI Bank Manager attacked in Raigarh, Bank Keys, Locker Keys stolen

A service manager of the State Bank of India (SBI) in Kotra Road, Raigarh, was robbed by two unidentified miscreants on Tuesday night. The attackers took away his bag, which contained the bank’s main gate and locker keys, important documents, cash, and ATM cards. The incident took place in the Jute Mill police station area.

How the Incident Happened

The victim, Suman Toppo (37 years old), a resident of Savitri Nagar Colony, was heading home on his Activa scooter after finishing work at the bank around 9 PM. As he passed through Mehar Gali near Durga Chowk, two unknown individuals suddenly stopped him near a drain.

The assailants attacked him with their fists and snatched his purse, which contained:

  • Two ATM cards and two credit cards
  • RC card of his vehicle
  • Aadhaar card and PAN card
  • ₹800 in cash

After robbing his personal belongings, the criminals grabbed his side bag, which contained the bank’s main gate and locker keys along with important documents. They then quickly fled from the scene.

Police Investigation Underway

Following the attack, Suman Toppo immediately went to the Jute Mill police station and lodged a complaint. Based on his report, the police have registered a case under Section 309(4)-BNS and 309(6)-BNS and have started their investigation.

Clues About the Accused

During the robbery, Suman overheard one of the miscreants calling the other by the name Sohan. He also observed that the second attacker was wearing a black shirt and appeared to be around 30-32 years old. Suman shouted for help, but the attackers quickly escaped before anyone could intervene.

Security Concerns and Bank Safety

The theft of the bank’s locker and main gate keys has raised serious security concerns. The police are conducting an investigation to recover the stolen items and identify the accused. Authorities have also alerted the bank’s management to take necessary precautions to prevent any unauthorized access to the bank premises.

The police have urged the public to report any suspicious individuals and have assured that efforts are being made to track down the criminals as soon as possible.
