SBI Bank Assistant Manager arrested taking Bribe in Punjab

Today, there’s been some shocking news coming out of Abohar in Punjab. Sunil Kumar, an assistant manager at the State Bank of India branch there, has been caught red-handed by the Punjab vigilance bureau. The Punjab vigilance bureau (VB) on Tuesday has arrested Sunil Kumar, assistant manager, posted at State Bank of India branch at Abohar in Fazilka district red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹10,000.

The whole thing started when Sukhpal Singh, a local from Bahavwala village, filed a complaint. He claimed that Mr. Kumar had asked for ₹12,000 as a bribe to speed up an insurance claim for his deceased cow. The vigilance bureau launched an investigation and set up a trap. During this operation, Mr. Kumar was caught in the act, accepting ₹10,000 from Sukhpal Singh. There were witnesses present to confirm everything, and as a result, Mr. Kumar was immediately arrested.

Now, Mr. Kumar is facing charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act. It’s a reminder that corruption affects all of us, and it’s heartening to see authorities taking swift action when it’s uncovered.
