In the State Bank of India branch in Parasia, a security guard’s gun went off accidentally after it fell to the ground. An elderly man was injured in the incident.
Parasia, formerly known as Dongar Parasia, is a municipality and coal mining belt in the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, India, known for major coal mines like Eklahara and Burkuhi.
According to reports, around 3:00 PM, Ramnarayan, a resident of Vijori, came to the bank to update his passbook. While entering the main gate, he lightly brushed against the security guard.
During this moment, the rifle hanging on the guard’s shoulder slipped and fell. As soon as it hit the ground, it fired accidentally.
The bullet, which was said to be a dummy cartridge, hit the elderly man in his leg and caused a minor injury. He was immediately taken to a private hospital in Parasia. Doctors said he is now out of danger.
The incident created panic inside the bank for a short time. The matter is currently being investigated.
